Carey who's 5'10, was once a leading American modeling model. Top designers including Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren liked her. Her father was the world-renowned geologist, who in 1979 was named Scientist of the year in 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey has lived across the globe because of his work. While she was at in the University of Colorado at part-time and was able to catch the attention of a Ford model Agency representative in New York. She briefly spent time and studied in Paris before returning in New York. Her modeling and college career took off and she appeared on the covers of Glamour's and Vogue's as well as many other covers of magazines. When she was modeling and continued to pursue her studies full-time for a literature major within New York University. Then she became interested in acting, and began taking classes with the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. Her part was a minor one on Club Paradise with Robin Williams in 1986. When she is not working, she enjoys skiing, windsurfing, climbing rocks as well as whitewater river rafting.
